Relaxed Wedding in Islington Day 2
Today I’m sharing day two of this relaxed wedding in Islington, London. Caroline and Julian didn’t want a sit-down reception, not only did they not want to deal with a seating plan (!) they knew they wanted to mingle with all their family and friends flying in from all over the world and have time to chat with everyone.
Their focus was on food and fun. The caterers, Clerkenwell Green, provided a steady stream of scrumptious bowl food during the evening and a delicious dessert buffet. Then for evening munchies they had Brindisi ham being carved out for guests with an array of cheeses and focaccias.
The offices lent themselves perfectly to the different zones we created for the celebration: the bar and buffet areas, the main space for the speeches, juke box, photobooth and evening dancing, a kid’s area and space for old school arcade games, foosball and bagatelle boards- where as many the adults gathered as the kids.
“Our original plan was to sort everything on our own but luckily we came across Andri early on and realised the error of our ways. Andri was amazing, in the lead-up and especially on the day. One aspect of this was putting us in touch with the right people for us. We really wanted to keep everything as relaxed and low-stress as possible, and she was able to recommend people who fitted us perfectly. It made such a difference…Andri kept us on track, but more importantly she kept us relaxed. When we had our final meeting on the Thursday it was amazing to be able to ‘hand over’ completely to her, and just enjoy the rest of the weekend.”
