If you read my recent post on 10 Reasons Why You Should Have a Small Wedding, you’ll already know I’m a big believer in the magic of a more intimate celebration. This editorial shoot at The Maine, Mayfair brings that philosophy to life, showing how smaller weddings can still be full of beauty, personality, and joy.
A Celebration of Intimacy and Style
We set this shoot against the richly textured backdrop of The Maine’s private dining spaces to showcase the elegance and ease that come with a smaller-scale celebration. From the ceremony setup to the final coupé of champagne, we carefully considered every detail to create something warm, personal, and joyfully refined.

From Ceremony to Cocktails
We featured two bridal looks to reflect how your style can evolve throughout the day. For the ceremony look our bride wore a clean, understated satin Wren dress by Savannah Miller, paired with a handmade veil by Rozie Bride and statement earrings from Tilly Thomas Lux. Her bouquet? A single variety: caramel-hued tulips. Proof that simplicity can be incredibly impactful.

For the evening, she changed into the Lana dress by Julita London, soft, flowing sleeves and an open back. With fabulous feather trimmed shoes by Dianne Hassall, perfect for dancing or sipping cocktails. Hair and makeup by Jimena Limenk shifted too: a low messy bun and a bold lip to mark the transition from ceremony to celebration. The groom wore a sharply tailored tuxedo by Richard James, grounding the look with classic style.

A Modern Table for a Joyful Gathering
The table design was a true celebration of tone and texture. I chose a palette of soft neutrals, think toffee, blush, and caramel, with richer pops of burgundy to echo the interiors of The Maine. Rosaria Flowers brought that vision to life with sculptural tulip arrangements, interspersed with deep red plums, grapes and cherries, and encased candles. The hand-illustrated stationery by Imogen Partridge added a beautifully personal, artistic edge to the place settings.

One of my favourite details? The single-tier heart-shaped cake by KKakes, finished with traditional Lambeth icing, a romantic nod to the past with a modern attitude. We styled a post-dinner moment to capture the relaxed joy of the day’s end: cake eaten, champagne sipped, laughter lingering. It’s those kinds of in-between moments that really show what weddings are about – connection, celebration, and shared joy.

I’m so thrilled that Together Journal, featured this shoot, its’s one of my absolute favourite global wedding publications. Their ethos around modern, meaningful weddings aligns perfectly with how I work. I couldn’t be prouder to see this story shared with their audience.
Why Small Weddings Still Make a Big Impact

This shoot is a perfect example of how intimate weddings can be just as stylish, heartfelt, and memorable as a larger celebration, if not more so. With fewer guests, there’s more space to focus on meaningful details, personal touches, and creating an experience that truly reflects you as a couple. It’s about quality over quantity, and designing something that feels effortlessly you.
Looking for help bringing your own not-so-ordinary wedding to life? I’d love to hear from you. Let’s create something unforgettable together.
