A year today Sarah and Megan celebrated their relaxed St Barts Brewery wedding reception in London, as seen in my last post they had their wedding ceremony at the fabulous Asylum in Peckham followed by a trip on the London Eye.
As the evening drew in guests were taken on a traditonal red London bus to the reception venue – St Bart’s Brewery in Smithfields to enjoy family style dining on a ploughman’s starter and a traditional British roast dinner, with delicious desserts of mini cheescakes and chocolate and salted caramel profiteroles. In keeping with the theme of the day of celebrating English traditions and produce English wines from St Bart’s winery Hush Heath Estate were served and favours were personalised Christmas crackers, that acted as place cards too; a particular hit with the US guests as they don’t have crackers back home.
In keeping with the cosy family atmosphere, all the guests were seated together at one large U-shaped table decorated with twinkly copper-wired fairy lights and luscious blooms in deep pinks, reds and purples.
After dinner, we turned the space around to allow for the cake to be cut and a dance floor to be created. Having been to see a duelling piano act in the US and absolutely loved it, we set about finding a UK company and struck gold with Piano Factor who brilliantly kept the guests entertained.
This was such a lovely wedding to design and plan with a wonderful couple and family. Sarah and Megan sent me this lovely thank you after the wedding…
