Photoshoot inspired by nature and texture – Creative Wedding Designer

The inspiration for this shoot was to create a style that used textures as the starting point. We loved the idea of something that could be simple, elegant and yet detailed and with depth. These beautiful images from photographer Fiona Kelly showcase a shoot full of lush, organic textures and show how you can create an elegant, stylish wedding with a few, simple unusual touches.

The venue for the shoot was the Royal Geographical Society in London. The classic, simple lines of the Main Hall were a perfect backdrop for the opulent top table. Dressed in layers of Eucalyptus, Green Bells & ivory Majolica roses, our florist Blue Sky Flowers created a dramatic display, adding a touch of luxury with bronze spray painted ferns & Eryngium thistles. A scattering of pheasant feathers finished off the organic look.

The earthy looking stationery was created by Kate Ruth Romey who used brown paper & wooden details for the place settings. The ingenious table plan was a clever combination of little, brown luggage tags suspended from giant wire globes made by our stylist Andri Benson. The wire detail was also incorporated into the place settings with twirly bronze plate chargers and nests for the cute bronze, mini cakes provided by Little Boutique Bakery.

The elegant ivory wedding cake was decorated with delicate sugar flowers in the same muted colours as the tablescape and the bouquet; a unique organic arrangement of Broom, ivory Hydrangea and Majolica spray roses and those lovely Pheasant feathers again!

To match the opulence of the table, our model bride, Bryony, wears ‘Callie’ from Jennie Packham a beautiful, simple tulle gown embellished with sequins. We pulled the look together with a bronze ribbon belt to coordinate with the floral arrangements and Sjaniel Turrell styled Bryony’s hair into a classic up-do with a modern twist.

The second gown featured is a classic, elegant design from Kobus Dippenaar (AG-12-022) supplied by Morgan-Davies Bridal, who kindly provided all the accessories for this shoot. With a simple strapless bodice and full, flared skirt we accessorised the gown with a sequinned belt and the fabulous bronze shrug by Jesus Peiro to give the right amount of shimmer. Bryony’s look was more laid back with a modern, fishtail plait and classic, natural make up. Shoes throughout were provided by Marsha Hall.
